4.0 out of 5 stars Good sound; different than larger model, November 26, 2016
This is thus far a nice, rugged feelings portable speaker. It has some heft to it but not too much and it feels as though it provides the water resistance it advertises. There are a few things that I love about this and a couple things I’d change.

Here is what I’ve found:

This speaker sounds pretty good as an all-around unit to use at the beach, pool, camping, et al. It has a nice carabiner clip that attaches to a strong loop that lends itself nicely to portability. It also comes with a 3.5mm cable to hook up to those devices that either don’t have Bluetooth or to use if you just have something against it (I.E. If you feel you lose too much via the wireless transmission method). Other than a charging cable (USB to MicroUSB like you use with and Android device) it doesn’t have much else besides the instructions.

Onto the specifics:

The sound is good but it doesn’t provide a deep low end. As with most wireless speakers of this size and price, it does a good but not great job with deep bass. Mid-range and highs are good and not too bright and it is great for it’s intended purpose: fun speaker to use whenever and wherever you want.

Battery life is pretty good as it lasted me hours. I tried many types of music and audio books and it handled all well at a fairly loud volume. Charging did take a couple hours or so; making it important to take that into consideration.

Final Thoughts:

Pros –
Good sound
Good battery
Easy pairing
Nice portability

Controls for volume different than most portable speakers: not located by play buttons
Not deep bass

This makes a good addition to my ever-expanding Bluetooth collection. The sound is good and not outstanding but the price is right and the convenience is great.
